Meherpur News, 21 September 2011: An exchange meeting titled “Current Status and Actions Needed for the Implementation of the Tobacco Control Act 2005” was held on Tuesday at the Meherpur Sadar Upazila Parishad Auditorium.
The event was organized by Subah Samajik Unnayan Sangstha, AID, and WBB Trust.
The meeting was chaired by Shah Momin, the Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) of Meherpur Sadar.
Speakers at the meeting included:
- Moin-ul-Alam, Executive Director of Subah Samajik Unnayan Sangstha and member of the Upazila Tobacco Control Task Force,
- Anwar Hossain, Sadar Upazila Education Officer,
- N. A. Halim, Agricultural Officer,
- Dr. Mizanur Rahman,
- Abu Zafar Howlader, Youth Development Officer, and
- Momtaz Parveen, Assistant Upazila Primary Education Officer.
